The programme for the « Basque Culture » week can not be established in advance since it depends on current events.
However, there are three permanent activities:
- Visit the town of Bidart, accompanied by a guide who will recount the history of Kaioa, Abbott Vélasco’s fine pottery workshop;
- Visit the Basque History Museum in Bayonne: the roots of today’s culture are to be found in the region’s history;
- Natural heritage : hiking with a nature guide.

For the rest of the week you will be able to see or participate in 3 or 4 events organised at the time of your stay at Villa Kaioa : typical Basque Bertsulari improvisations, concerts, plays, conferences, dances, exhibitions, typical Basque sporting events, such as Cesta Punta, sea rowing races, and much more…..
You can be accompanied by an aficionado who will help you to understand the context of the event and so enable you to fully enjoy these moments.
